According to the new report of World Happiness, 2017, Norway is the happiest country in the world, Americans are getting sadder and Indians are on the list of saddest countries, India stands nowhere when it comes to being happy.
India ranked at 122, that is four notches below the previous rank of 118. The report was released at United Nations at the celebration of International Day of Happiness. Despite the plummeting price of oil and current economy, Norway emerged as the happiest country on the earth according to the new survey. Norway moved from spot 4 from last year to spot 1, while USA fell down to no.14 from 13. The report has been released on 155 countries. Denmark has topped the spot in past 3 years which has now slipped to the 2nd spot.
The report is based on six factors- GDP per capita, healthy years of life expectancy, trust, social support, perceived freedom to make life decisions and generosity.
The bottom five countries on the list where people are the unhappiest are Burundi (154), Tanzania (153), Syria (152), Rwanda (151) and the Central African Republic (155).
